His letter published in the September 2016 Friends Journal is attached. The majority of the hour will be spent in reflection and discussion. John offers these queries for consideration:

  • What can I or my meeting do to become more aware of the way incarcerated individuals are treated in prison or upon release?
  • Could the changing of the 13th Amendment contribute to criminal justice reform and ending mass incarceration?
  • How might we test whether if Friends in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting are willing to support an effort to change the 13th Amendment?
  • What are other ways that we might end mass incarceration locally?
