Carol's Meeting for Learning on 6/25 covered all Quaker testimonies - known among Quakers as the SPICES - but put the spotlight on the I testimony of Integrity. She likened the testimonies as stones brought home from a trip, to be held and considered.

She invited Friends to share how the Integrity testimony has spoken to them.

Several Friends spoke of this testimony as a foundation useful in withstanding storms - something including but perhaps more than honesty, fairness, authenticity, consistency, congruity, wholeness, and accountability.

Karen and Mike Minnis joined Memphis Friends for the meeting for learning on 4/23. The couple have founded and operate a suite of businesses in Orange Mound that focus on nutrition, health, community building and job training. Volunteers are welcome. Many Friends expressed interest in a tour of the gardens to learn more and to identify ways to volunteer:

At the April 16 meeting for learning, Memphis Friends were joined by Stephanie's friend, Vlad, who lives in Kyiv and who has been seeking ways to offer support to his fellow Ukranians and to build a future of peace and justice. The conversation was a time of reflection on the responsibilities and perhaps the limitations of the historic Quaker peace testimony. A challenging query offered was how to respond nonviolently when there is a clear aggressor and when there has been a violent invasion.
