On Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 11:45 a.m., American Friends Service Committee General Secretary Joyce Ajlouny will share highlights of AFSC’s current work for peace and justice both in the US and internationally. She will be accompanied by AFSC’s South Region Associate Director Anyango Reggy, and Sanctuary Everywhere Initiative National Coordinator Lori Khamala, who will talk about ASFC’s work in our region and how Friends can become involved.

Lunch will be provided by Chapel DURHAM FRIENDS MEETING NEWSLETTER • FIRST MONTH 2 Hill FM who will join us for this event.

All interested adults and teens are invited to attend Durham Meeting’s annual “Quakerism 101” mini course beginning on Tuesday evening, January 15th. Bob Passmore and John Hunter will be your guides.

Announcing a short course for interested members and attenders Introducing the history and principal elements of Quakerism.

"Quakerism 101" is held on 4 weekday evenings 7:00-9:15 during January and February each year at the meetinghouse.  For 2019, Session 1 is Tuesday January 15th followed by the next 3 Tuesdays:  January 22h, 29th and February 5th.

You are invited to a presentation about the 2013 Quaker Pilgrimage to the Lake District in England on Friday, March 7th 7:00-9:00 pm.  We will be serving  English Tea, complete with homemade Icky Sticky Toffee Pudding, scones with clotted cream and jam, and small sandwiches. Members of Meeting who took part in the pilgrimage will share their experiences and how they impacted their spiritual journeys and strengthened ties to Quakers both at home and in England.
