Some people in the Meeting have expressed to Peace & Social Concerns the need for further information about how to help elect liberal candidates. The following information was gathered in early summer. Andrea Koplove is working with the organization Turn PA Blue with the object of electing Democratic candidates in the area. Her strategy, gleaned from Art Haywood (our state senator who gave a talk to the Meeting about effective citizen advocacy and teaches courses on this topic), is to work on local (state) candidacies in areas near Philadelphia where Democrats are not assured a victo

Today Friends from Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting held meeting for worship in PECO's lobby to pray for racial, economic and environmental justice. Eighteen people participated, 15 from the meeting, many participating in this form of public worship/action for the first time. Click photo to see it enlarged.
Chestnut Hill Monthly Meeting received the following minute concerning mass incarceration and the cash bail system from Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting.
Requests for proposals for P&SC's yearly grants are being solicited. Send your proposals, as documented in the application, to Marlena Santoyo by April 30.
