Sustainable Living queries from Friends in Unity with Nature

My hope for our future grows when people are actively considering the dilemmas we are facing with regard to protecting the health of life in our beloved creation.  I am so grateful for the privilege of being a part of the creation.  God gave us a mind that allows us greater discernment of our impact on the environment.  With that comes greater moral and ethical responsibility.  Our approaching local meetings of BYM is to gain active consideration by as wide a number of our worship community as possible to gain a recognition of what the problem is and what it would take to find peace with the rest of life.  My belief is that recognition is not complicated and therefore accessible to all people of consciousness.  Each of us has to go through our own discovery of these limits and manage our emotions in response.  As intimidating as that may be, that recognition is a hopeful moment where we consider whether our next step gets us closer or farther from where we need to be.  There is much despair that goes unrecognized.  There is also denial.  Our Quaker process can minister to both of these conditions.  We are looking for local meetings to discern on these dilemmas in the hope of getting them to share that discernment at 2015 BYM Annual Session in August.  We hope for a synergy to come from that which will continue as we respond with creative hope and love.  Great things can happen when we are challenged to be our best.
