The following priorities were approved by Central Philadelphia Meeting’s meeting for worship with attention to business on March 2, 2022. You can download a pdf of this document using the link below.
Address the Climate Crisis and Preserve all of God’s creation
- End fossil fuel subsidies
- Modernize the grid and incorporate more renewables
- Establish a national carbon market and portfolio standard to achieve 50% reduction in GHGs by2030.
Equal Rights under the Law and Equal Opportunity for all Americans
- Pass voting rights law to insure fair elections; insure states can’t suppress voting or subvert elections.
- Fund public education to insure equal access
- Prioritize quality affordable healthcare
Work for Peace
- Support nonviolent intervention efforts in armed conflicts worldwide
- Advocate for Indigenous peoples’ rights and concerns. Honor treaties and promises.
- Confront global militarism.
- Promote nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation
Promote nonviolent resolution to conflicts
- End gun violence by supporting policies that are informed by public health best practices.
Criminal Justice Reform
- Advocate for a justice system that reduces incarceration and police brutality
- Advocate for community-oriented law enforcement
Immigration Reform
- Reform U.S. immigration policy to respect the rights, safety, humanity, and dignity of all immigrants, refugees and migrants.
- Create a path to citizenship for immigrants including “Dreamers”
