Membership - 7/1989
“Following the guidelines for determining membership as laid out in Practice and Procedures of New York Yearly Meeting, we have identified 74 active adult members. We have followed the guidelines with the exception of the final letter of removal. It is the sense of Summit Meeting that our spiritual responsibility to those who have at any time been a part of our religious family does not permit us to remove from our membership distant or unseen Friends.”
The definition of Active/Inactive membership and the process for moving between the lists is laid out in 2/1991 and 3/1995 meeting minutes.
1/1996 - Keith Johnson, speaking as Treasurer of Regional Meeting, said New York Yearly Meeting will no longer assess Meetings on the basis of number of members, but will base the assessment on the previous year’s dollar contribution.
