Puzzling out the Gospel of Luke

June 5, 9 A.M.

Presenter: Joe Byers

Does reading the Bible sometimes make you scratch your head and say “What?” Let’s put our hearts together and try to unpack some of the more perplexing parts of the social justice gospel of Luke. • The woman washes Jesus’s feet — 7:36-50
  • The Lord’s Prayer/Knock and it shall be opened — 11:1-13
  • The dishonest manager — 16:1-13

Be-Friending (not Be-Moaning) Your Religious Past

June 12, 9 A.M.

Presenter: Larry Peers

No matter what route we took toward the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), we may have been formed by a “religious past” – the religion of our youth or some later time in our life. In this session, we will engage in some creative explorations of what we have willingly left behind and what we intentionally carry forward. We will imagine our spiritual journey as a trajectory that incorporates and integrates our past, present and future.

Larry Peers is a friend of our meeting who leads retreats, teaches, and provides coaching and consulting to religious leaders and organizations across many faith traditions.
