Peace and Social Concerns reported that the Indiana Friends Committee on Legislation has asked meetings in Indiana to support their concern for more equitable redistricting in Indiana. The meeting approved the following minute that our clerks will send to IFCL and to our state representative.

We are members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) attending the Clear Creek Monthly Meeting. Indiana Quakers have been devoted to social justice since the days of slavery. Uniting with Indiana Friends Committee on Legislation, our meeting is concerned that current legislative district lines are the result of unfair partisan political and election processes which undermine our sense of shared citizenship. We encourage the Indiana General Assembly to adopt non-partisan redistricting of legislative districts.  With redistricting reform, we hope to invigorate Hoosier participation in the electoral process.
