Davis Friends Meeting
We welcome all to our (mostly) silent Meeting for Worship each Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. and to fellowship after the worship.
Together with all Quakers worldwide, we believe that each individual can commune with the divine without need of clergy or doctrine. We have no professional clergy, and each person present is responsible for the quality of the worship.
Our Meeting was founded in the early 1960s and has its Meetinghouse at 345 L St in Davis, California, USA. Usually, 30-40 people participate in the Meeting for Worship. We are very active in the community, and we support peace, ecological, and social justice activities at the local, state, national and international levels.
We welcome families with children, university students, and individuals of all ages. We have a children’s program on Sunday mornings.
We are an “open, welcoming, and affirming” Meeting. Please join us!
We continue to be a strong community with lots of mutual care despite some coming to Meeting for Worship on zoom; and all masking indoors.

What's New
A children’s program is offered each Sunday from October through June. It begins at 10:10. Our activities include art, games, songs, stories and discussion related to Quaker testimonies such as simplicity, equality, and peace.
The Religious Society of Friends is rooted in Christianity, but membership or participation in our Meeting does not require adherence to a creed or statement of belief. Friends apply principles in everyday life, sometimes referred to as "Testimonies", such as Truth-telling, Peace, Simplicity, Integrity, Unity, Community, Equality/Equity, Unity with Nature / Earthcare / Stewardship.
On Sundays, worship is preceded by singing beginning at about 9:45 a.m. At 10:00, we settle in silence. Once a month shortly after the start of worship, a brief reading is presented.
We are part of the worldwide Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), which began in England in the mid-1600s in opposition to the established state Church of Englan
