“Midrashic Reading; Praying With Scripture”
Presenter: Pat Thomas, Mullen Fellow in Writing at ESR
Lectio Devina is a method of prayer that uses words from scripture in our prayers. Pat Thomas, Mullen Writing Fellow at ESR, has pioneered a method for exploring scripture and prayer using journaling and the Jewish practice of midrash (re-telling a story from a minor character’s point of view). We will join Pat by experimenting with journaling, words from scripture, and prayer.

“Walking Meditation”
Presenter: Derek Parker, pastor at First Friends
What if we could see the holy in something very ordinary? What if we could see each step we take as a blessing from God? Derek will guide us through a series of exercises to help us utilize walking as a method for meditation and prayer.
Tuesday, April 1, 6 PM, at St. Paul’s Episcopal
“A Pilgrim’s Guide to the Stations of the Cross”
Presenter: Brother Francis Jonathan (a.k.a. Jason Bullock)
The stations of the cross are a Medieval tool using artwork for journeying with Jesus from his trial at the Praetorium, through his death, and to his lying in the tomb. Brother Francis will take experienced pilgrims, new pilgrims, and curiosity seekers through a tour. We’ll learn a bit of history, and maybe something about ourselves.
