Announcements.

Welcome to Marlin, who recently moved to our area and successfully completed the challenge of finding us at the Mauthe Center!  He recommends we add some more details to our Web page on how to get to the Mauthe Center once you are on the UWGB site.  Additional good news – he likes to sing!

Congratulations to Ned and Lindsey who are expecting a new child in their family!

The UU’s will be leaving the Mauthe Center soon, but the exact date is unknown.  They are awaiting a public assembly permit, which is contingent on some air-conditioning work being done.

Reports from Coordinators of Work Projects.

Adult Education:  We still need to schedule Hayden’s discussion on handling change, and Lissa’s sharing of her experiences in chaplaincy.  Scheduling should be done through Carol C.

WISDOM: Bob reported that RUTH had good local response to the showing of the film “Milwaukee 53206” on April 25.  The film is a “documentary that chronicles the lives of those affected by incarceration in America’s most incarcerated zip code.”

WISDOM holds monthly conference calls on the issue of overuse of solitary confinement in Wisconsin prisons.  Anyone can join the call on the second Tuesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:00 pm by calling 712-432-1601, access code #423950.  The calls are led by David Liners, Director of WISDOM.

Lindsey attended WISDOM’s Legislative Action Day in Madison.

FCNL:  Bob reported that FCNL is encouraging us to continue writing our senators and congressmen in support of maintaining health care coverage for all.

Potlucks:  Dan Ensley extended an invitation to host a potluck/discussion at his home at 4513 Oak Orchard Road in Abrams on Saturday, August 12, at 5 pm.  Topic will be discerning when to deliver a spoken message during Meeting for Worship.  June and July potlucks will be social events with no planned discussion topics.  Dates and places will be announced via e-mail.

Prison Ministry:  Tina and Mary requested a Clearness Committee to help them discern through the process of trying to start a regular Quaker service at Green Bay Correctional Institute now that Shane has moved to Fox Lake.  Jill H and Hayden G offered to serve on the Clearness Committee.

Respectfully submitted,

Mary Klos, Clerk

With support from Tina M
