First Day School Fall "Camp-In":

On October 19-20, the First Day School held it's annual fall campout, except that we did a "camp-in" instead.  The evening started with a pasta and meatball dinner cooked by Doug and Isabelle.  Besides 12 children of various ages, including some visitors, there were parents and other meeting adults.  We then played games, worked on a "haunted house" from refrigerator boxes, helped set up a tent indoors, and just had fun together.  Five children and four adults slept over - all five children in a very cramped tent!  Kristin cooked breakfast with her delicious sour cream pancakes, fruit salad, and sausages.  Some of the children made up a jousting game using cardboard tubes - if your leg was hit, for example, you then had to continue jousting while hopping on one leg.  The clever ways they found to continue playing with no limbs reminded some of us of Monty Python's "It's only a flesh wound!"  Being indoors this year, we did not hear the screams from the Haunted Hayride at Hanson's Farm.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  We will post pictures if we can find some, but it looks as if everyone was too busy to think of using their camera!
