Intrepid FFM Hikers

With Covid restrictions currently preventing children in the Meeting from gathering in the Meetinghouse, ingenious members of the First Day School Committee have proposed and carried out a number of inter-generational hikes in local areas of interest.  On July 11, 10 adults and 1 child gathered in the parking lot of Wittenborg Woods for a hike to Ford's Folly.  According to Atlas Obscura, "This dam in the woods, built by Henry Ford with only manpower and oxen, holds no water and serves no purpose."  It did provide, however, an interesting destination for FFM Friends to enjoy an outing together in the woods.  Another successful hike was made on July 25 when 6 adults and 1 child hiked to the Gray Reservation in Sudbury.  FDS will continue having an outdoor activity to which all are invited at least once a month.  Meeting members and attenders are encouraged to come meet our children and have fun!
