This committee has replaced the newsletter and website committee, subsuming those functions and adding functions to coordinate outreach among all committees within the meeting community.

Phase I

Oversees the Meeting’s presence in the larger local community, and fosters strong connection and communication among our members and attenders. Relies heavily on collaboration within the Meeting, and is ideally comprised of at least one member from the following standing committees: Building and Grounds, Earthcare Witness, First Day School, Hospitality, Ministry and Nurture, and Peace and Social Concerns.

Makes the meeting visible and accessible for those searching for a spiritual home. Seeks ways to connect and collaborate with people who share some of our values.

Outreach efforts involve maintaining our website, posting to social media, advertising, tabling events, designing handouts, writing editorials, forging community alliances, and working with other committees to help them support our outreach goals.

Designs and arranges advertisements in the Iguana and other publications. Maintains the Meeting’s website, www.GainesvilleQuakers.org . Manages the online calendar of events and social media accounts.
Posts the monthly newsletter on the website.

Publishes and distributes the newsletter:
Corresponds with committee clerks to obtain content.
Copyedits newsletter submissions.
Prepares photo submissions for print and electronic publication.
Lays out newsletter content and photos.
Notifies those on the online mailing list when the latest issue is posted on the website. Sends PDF (printable) file to local printer.
