Hanover Friends Meeting members attend Accompaniment Rally in Manchester NH

Two carloads of Hanover Quakers joined hundreds of others at a peaceful "Accompaniment Rally" at Manchester NH's Federal Building on June 6th. Standing in the cold, drizzly weather, we listened to many inspiring speakers why it is important for ALL of us to stand with immigrants, regardless of their legal status, as the federal government pushes to find excuses, however flimsy, to deport the people who do the work of harvesting our fields, caring for our older adults, and nurturing our children. When a wage-earner is deported, her family is left broken.

The United Valley Interfaith Project and the NH office of the American Friends Service Committee worked with other groups to organize this impressive showing of solidarity. To learn more go to https://www.afsc.org/office/concord-nh
