Religious Education and Our Children

Children who are too young for an hour of silent worship attend the first 15 minutes of worship following which they join our First Day School classes. The First Day School Calendar for 2015-2016 is also posted.

The Religious Education Committee is charged with overseeing the development and implementation of the Meeting's First Day School and child care programs. It strives to nurture our children's spiritual, social and intellectual growth from infancy through high school. Members of the committee may serve as First Day School teachers or child care providers. However, members and attenders who do not feel called to provide these services are also encouraged to serve on the committee, as they may bring important insights and energy to planning efforts, as well as invaluable support to those who teach.

New England Yearly Meeting (NEYM) has a program of youth retreats for elementary, junior high, high school, and Young Adult Friends (YAFs). Please go to the attachments at the bottom of this page for the schedules.

For expanded information about NEYM youth programs go to http://neym.org/organization/youth-programs.

There are also religious education programs for adults such as the Faith and Practice study group.
