Hartford Friends Meeting

We warmly welcome you to join us for Worship!

Our weekly Meeting for Worship is held on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. and lasts about one hour. Usually we have about 40-50 worshipers in attendance. Child care service is provided as well as Sunday school for youth.

New updates to the Connecticut Alternatives to Violence Project have been posted below.

Mission of Alternatives to Violence Project: To empower people to lead nonviolent lives through affirmation, respect for all, community building, cooperation, and trust.

Founded in and developed from the real life experiences of prisoners and others, and building on a spiritual base, AVP encourages every person’s innate power to positively transform themselves and the world.

With the Help of the Green Fund, a permaculture garden area is being established on the Meeting House grounds.

Fellowship pot lucks are held once each month following Meeting for Worship, usually on the second Sunday of the month, except during the summer.

The Peace and Social Concerns Committee is responsible for keeping the Peace Testimony central to our faith and witness. To this end, the committee seeks to support members and attenders in living out this testimony in the way that each individual is called.

Hartford Meeting Voluntary Carbon Tax Witness will support Knox, INC, a Hartford nonprofit using horticulture as a catalyst for community engagement. KNOX forges partnerships between residents, businesses, and government, providing leadership to build stronger, greener, healthier and more beautiful neighborhoods in Hartford.
