Heartland Friends Education Hour

Getry Agizah

Getry Agizah, co-founder and director of Transforming Communities for Social Change in Western Kenya, will speak of her work facilitating trauma healing workshops and community development efforts following 2007 post-election violence in Kenya. Her organization, TCSC, Friends Peace Teams, and the African Great Lakes Peace Initiative have developed strategies for reporting and de-escalating violence and are working to prevent violence in the upcoming August 2017 Kenyan elections.

Coffee, tea and cookies will be available during and following the event.  After Getry Agizah's presentation hymn singing will follow at 10:45 and Meeting for Woship at 11:00 a.m.

SCHEDULE NOTE: This program will take the place of our usual brunch, but there will be a carry-in salad luncheon at 12:30 after Meeting for Worship. There will be no business meeting in July.
