Potluck Supper: "Clearness Committees: A Fine Quaker Tradition"

Are you in a quandary about a career decision? a family issue? a spiritual dilemma?

Perhaps a Quaker clearness committee could help. Several Friends can gather with you to explore your situation and help you think through the problem or challenge. These people will not advise or push you, but will try to tease out the wisdom already within you so you can proceed in greater clarity to make your own decisions.

Peter Hardy, Patricia Griffith and the Care and Nurture Committee will explain more about how clearness committees work, how they are set up, and how you can request one.

Care and Nurture also provides a clearness committee when someone is requesting membership in the Religious Society of Friends or when a couple is asking to be married "under the care of the Meeting."

We also need a host to open up the meetinghouse, provide a few beverages (in lieu of a potluck dish), and set out plates, silverware, and napkins before 7pm.

The host has NO responsibility for cleanup afterward. If you can take on this task, please contact Claire. She can get you a building key if needed.

"If childcare is needed, please call Joanna with 48 hours notice if possible."
