Maury River Friends Meeting will be offering a program for elementary children teaching the dynamics of non-violent conflict resolution held from April 6th - 8th from 9:00 to 1:00 at Boxerwood Gardens 963 Ross Road, Lexington (program unaffiliated with Boxerwood Educational Association).
The program utilizes curriculum from the Peace Education Foundation and focuses on essential components of conflict resolution and peacebuilding skills. Using story-telling, role playing, games, and other learning strategies, children will learn how to understand conflict and how to employ non-violent ways to manage threatening situations. The sessions deal with understanding the sources of conflict, effective communication, fear and anger, and responding to bullying behavior. There is a $50 fee for this camp that can be reduced or waved upon request.
