Dear Friends, Based upon our experience of the last few weeks, we have further revised our attendance and mask policy for in-person Meeting for Worship in the Meeting House which will be held on a very limited one-a-month basis. Strictly applying reasonable Covid protocols to minimize the Covid exposure to members and attenders of MM Friends of Philadelphia has proven too challenging to continue in-person Meeting for Worship in the Meeting House every week. Our sensibilities as Quakers to be inclusive and broadly welcoming are in conflict with our desire to protect our faith community from unreasonable or unknown exposure to Covid. Attempting to harmonize these two interests, the Covid protocols going forward are as follows:
In-person: On the second Sunday of each month only, we welcome Friends of any Monthly Meeting and recorded attenders of MMFP who are vaccinated to worship on First Day- provided they wear a mask. We eagerly look forward to welcoming others when circumstances allow.
Online Meeting for Worship will continue on Sundays at 10:30 - at least until 10/31/2021.
At present, there are no plans for joined live and zoom (hybrid) meeting for worship or First Day school.
Hospitality and social time after the Second Sunday Meeting for Worship is “self catered” and outside, weather permitting. No food prep is currently permitted in the building.
We do not anticipate providing childcare on First Day (Sunday) until October.
The Arch Street Meeting House is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00-4:00, and masks are required inside the building. Any questions? Please email the Clerk of Worship and Ministry.
