Hosted by the Monthly Meeting of Friends of Philadelphia, in partnership with the Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting and Arch Street Meeting House Trust. A collaboration to support the future of Quakerism in the Philadelphia region and beyond.

WELCOME!

Our goal to provide practical and communal support with fellow Quaker meetings and Friends concerned with the plan, design and build of a meeting website. This topic is urgent for some meetings due to the end of the FGC QuakerCloud hosting service in December.  

We are focused on serving Friends in the Philadelphia region, but all are welcome to join us.  

DESCRIPTION:

• This hybrid session starts with a panel followed by a moderated Q & A discussion.  A panel from Quaker orgs, monthly and quarterly meetings will cover a range of approaches - briefly their goals, concerns, why they chose their approach and why and what they learned. 

• A moderated discussion follows the panel to enlarge on common issues such as time and cost, data security, learning curve, define website as part of online communications systems, planning maintenance practices, and the pros and cons of various hosting services and programs. 

• In the spirit of Quarterly meetings, requests and offers of support and collaboration are welcome.  

• Participants will receive resource handouts, practical how-to’s, recommendations, and maybe even some design tips to share with meetings. 

IN-PERSON PARTICIPANTS:

Friends attending in-person are invited to attend the 10:30 AM Meeting for Worship with the Arch Street Friends.  You can bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy with Friends before the session starts on the second floor. Wheelchair accessible.
