Nashville Friends Meeting is a faith community called together to listen for and carry out what God/the Divine would have us do, individually and together. Grounded in the knowledge that there is "that of God" (also called the Light, the Seed, or the Christ) within every person, we seek to live in wholeness and to be faithful according to that Truth. Because of this, we strive to let our lives speak, demonstrating to each other and the world our testimonies of integrity, community, peace, equality, simplicity. - Statement of purpose, approved 5th day, 5th month 2004
We believe that we are all called to ministry. We do not have a pastor or paid clergy. We believe that gifts of the Spirit are given for the good of the community and strive to recognize, affirm, and encourage expression of those gifts in each of us, regardless of gender expression, racial or ethnic identity, sexual orientation, background, abilities, or history.

Nashville Friends Meeting is located between the old (1400ce) city of Mound Bottom, the 6,000 stone box burials along ‘Browns’ Creek, ‘Castalian Springs’ mounds, and the ‘Sellars Farm’ town site. We are on the traditional lands of Mississippian peoples and their descendants, including the Yuchi and Mvskoke tribes. The descendants of Yuchi and Mvskoke peoples currently reside in Oklahoma. We are working on and hopeful of their return.
NFM would like to help ensure that all of our spaces are safe spaces for all racial, ethnic, sexual and gender identities. In order to do so we find it necessary to reflect on the importance of language. Please use the following as a guideline for sharing in all NFM conversations.
In the words of Desmond Tutu, “Language is very powerful. Language does not just describe reality. Language creates the reality.”
As Quakers we honor that of God in every person. The Nashville Friends Meeting's Ministry & Counsel asks that people participating in our community use words with care even when quoting, reading, or remembering. We ask that participants never speak words such as slurs related to race, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality. These words cause extraordinary harm. It is never necessary to repeat them verbatim to convey the power of their use.
Meeting Times
Meeting for worship and all other events are being held in-person plus Zoom [hybrid] or totally in Zoom. Everyone is welcome to join, either through phone or video. See the calendar for links.

Meeting for worship is held Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Central Time. We offer a hybrid meeting, both in-person [masked] and on Zoom. Join us!
1st Sunday - an hour of worship is followed by a brown-bag lunch together either in person or via Zoom as an opportunity to socialize.
On 2nd and 4th Sundays after worship we have Adult Education 11:15-12:15. Announcements usually are made via email and our Facebook page.
3rd Sunday of each month is meeting for worship for the conduct of business, which is integrated into the worship itself. (We are usually done by 12:15.) Everyone is welcome to join, in the awareness that the business we attend to is the work we are called to do together by the Spirit.
Tuesday evenings at 7:00 we meet for conversation about many & varied topics. Mostly it is a time to really get to know one another better and share our life stories. Often we talk about whatever questions arise from the folks who are gathered. Everyone is welcome to come and add a topic! Topics are shared via email and Facebook.
Mid-week worship is held Thursday mornings at 9:30. We usually worship from 9:30 to 10:00 and then do check-ins and chat until roughly 10:30. Everyone is welcome to join for as long or as little time as you have.
