Climate Pilgrimage

July 9-15, 2017

Portsmouth, NH to Concord, NH

The Prophetic Climate Action Working Group, which emerged from discussions at NEYM's Annual Sessions in August 2016, is inviting Friends and friends-of-Friends across New England to participate in a Climate Pilgrimage across southern New Hampshire (July 9-15).  Join us for the whole week or just a day.

We walk from Schiller Station, a biomass and coal plant in Portsmouth, NH, to Merrimack Station in Bow, NH (just south of Concord), the only coal-fired power plant left in New England without a shut-down date.

We'll begin on Sunday morning, 7/9, with a meeting for worship outside the gates of the Schiller Station, and on the following Saturday morning, 7/15, a meeting for worship outside Merrimack Station power plant will be followed by a nonviolent direct action.

You’ll find many more details and a registration form at www.climatepilgrimage.org.  Please tell us you’re coming, even if you won’t be staying overnight.

From the invitation: "We walk to build together a beloved community, to see what faith in action looks like. Our hearts are on fire with divine love even though our hands are slow to repent and our feet are slow to change. This is a time for renewal and transformation."
