Restoration

In 2010, we embarked on a tricentennial restoration of Old Kennett. A new cedar shake roof was installed, at a cost of $22,000, followed by the wooden shutters and attendant hardware and doors.

In 2017, thanks to a grant from the Longwood Foundation, the exterior was caulked, sealed, and repainted, and all the windows were reglazed, broken panes replaced, and sashes restored. We are now working to stabilize plaster walls above several windows, and will repaint the window mullions.
