Piedmont Friends--Yearly Meeting & Fellowship

Welcome to "Piedmont Friends"

Piedmont Friends gathered at Guilford College on Saturday, June 3, 2023, as part of the 2023 Retreat and Annual Sessions.

-- the Piedmont Friends--Yearly Meeting & Fellowship website.

On June 4, 2022, during annual sessions, Piedmont Friends Fellowship (PFF) and the Piedmont Friends Yearly Meeting (PFYM) became the unifed body of "Piedmont Friends."

Meetings and worship groups, generally located in Piedmont North Carolina and adjacent areas of Virginia and South Carolina, affiliate with Piedmont Friends as either a Yearly Meeting affiliate or as a Fellowship affiliate. All meetings and Friends are welcomed into the work and fellowship of Piedmont Friends.

Information about the 2022 Piedmont Friends Retreat, including advance documents and reports, is available at: 2022 Piedmont Friends Retreat

NOTE: This website is undergoing revisions.

The 2022 annual meetings considered the recommendation from the joint representative bodies of PFF & PFYM:

“Friends are in unity to recommend to PFF and PFYM unification of the two bodies into Piedmont Friends – Yearly Meeting and Fellowship, with core values of inclusivity, fellowship and peace building and with a sense that unification can be strengthening for Piedmont Friends.”

The first gathering of Piedmont Friends as a unified body approved this minute establishing Piedmont Friends--Yearly Meeting & Fellowship:

"Friends (of the Religious Society of Friends) of the Piedmont region of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, gathering at Guilford College, Greensboro, NC, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, affirm the unification of Piedmont Friends Fellowship and Piedmont Friends Yearly Meeting into the unified body of Piedmont Friends—Yearly Meeting and Fellowship.

Friends further acknowledge the more than fifty years of Piedmont Friends coming together in fellowship, in support of peace building, and in welcoming inclusivity.  Building upon this foundation of collaboration, Friends affirm the unification as strengthening Piedmont Friends into the future."
