Roanoke Monthly Meeting an unprogrammed Quaker Meeting continues to worship on Zoom, and outdoors, and has, at long last, returned to worshiping in the Meetinghouse on Day Avenue. Monday, June 12, 7:00 pm. Taking Personal Testimony a Step Deeper: Quakers don’t hold to creeds but they do have testimonies, a word vibrant with meaning for early Friends. Roanoke Friends will gather to take the concept of testimony a personal step deeper. (Zoom link in calendar above) A single query will guide us:

Come worship with Friends in-person in the Meetinghouse and with others on Zoom.
At long last, we are worshiping again in-person.

CHARLIE BROUWER'S "BENEDICTION PROJECT"
Roanoke Monthly Meeting is joining area churches in participating in the Benediction Project by sculptor Charlie Brouwer. The sculpture represents a person with their arms upraised in blessing. It symbolizes an opportunity for faith groups to focus on caring and connections with our communities and provides an opportunity to reflect on "How do we care for our community? How are we a blessing to others?"

These beautifully decorated eggs are an age-old Ukrainian tradition. They are made, not by paint- ing the designs but by “writing” them with wax, a technique similar to batik. . .
Ukrainian legend holds that as long as pysanky are made, good will prevail over evil!
