Quakers and Race: The Conversation Continues

“White supremacy is white dominance. In this culture, what is considered ‘American’ is really European-American culture. If you are a part of that culture and fit into that culture, you don’t notice it. It is invisible. If you accept a structure as normal there’s no need to change it." — from the preface of “Institutional Assessment on Systemic Racism within Friends General Conference,” October 2018

The Peace and Social Concerns Committee has rescheduled a discussion about the role race plays in the Religious Society of Friends. During this Second Hour, we will watch a portion of Robin Diangelo’s video presentation based on her book White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk about Racism. There will be opportunity to respond through queries and worship sharing.
