Trenton Meeting of Friends
Welcome to Trenton Meeting of Friends of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)!
We meet for Worship each First Day (Sunday) at 10am.
Although we continue to use Zoom to allow that option for those who need or choose it, the Meetinghouse is open for our worship and other activities. The Zoom link for our First Day (Sunday) Worship is emailed to our mailing list and to those not on our mailing list who have requested it. You can make that request by emailing trentonquakers@gmail.com.
We worship together for about an hour in what is mostly silence. Although not much is being said, there is much going on as we center together in prayer. Sometimes out of that silence, people rise to speak, sharing messages that come from the holy part of them. We find the honesty and truth revealed in this way to be helpful and inspiring, sometimes leading to callings and actions. Trenton's Quakers are active, making contributions to our community and our world.
Among the historical testimonies that express central values of Quakers are the presence of God in each person, a direct and individual communion with God, and between all human beings a working towards peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, care of the environment and care for each other. In these times, many people feel these leadings!
On Facebook we have a page for the Meeting and a location page for the Meetinghouse

What's New

On a sunny, windy day in Trenton's historic Mill Hill Park, Trenton Meeting joined a vast array of tables, booths and vendors at the annual Juneteenth Festival. We had a wonderful time and a wonderful response. We connected with a great many people - folks we already knew and new ones who were interested to know about or be reminded about the historic Meetinghouse and our Meeting's committment and involvement in moving Trenton forward. Our successful combining of children's activities with our connection to groups and families continued.

An Egg Hunt in April and a Planting Party in May have been wonderful, lively events that have brought children and their parents from around the neighborhood. There were even some teens who wandered in and "kept it cool" while enjoying the drinks and food!

In 1931, Elizabeth B. Satterthwaite finished compiling a history of Trenton area Quakers in a 776 page document. The original is housed in the Trentoniana collection in the Trenton Free Public Library.

In March last year's campers at Safe Haven's summer camp expressed why they wanted the camp to be open this year. As the summer progressed, the end of camp approached and the children wanted another week. Trenton Meeting was able to provide funds to help that extra week happen. Honored to be given this opportunity. Thank you David Cox and Bryan Caver and everyone at The Safe Haven on Old Rose Street.
You owe it to yourself to watch and rewatch the video of Nikki's Keynote for PYM 2021 Annual Session. Entitled "Can I get an AMEN? Rooting Justice and Uprooting Injustice; What Is Required of Us as Friends."
