The Quaker Cloud has been our hosting site but now at last we are going out on our own.  Better look, more functionality and quicker updates await.

Welcome to Trenton Meeting of Friends of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)!

We meet for Worship each First Day (Sunday) at 10am.

Although we continue to use Zoom to allow that option for those who need or choose it, the Meetinghouse is open for our worship and other activities.  The Zoom link for our First Day (Sunday) Worship is emailed to our mailing list and to those not on our mailing list who have requested it. You can make that request by emailing trentonquakers@gmail.com.

We worship together for about an hour in what is mostly silence.  Although not much is being said, there is much going on as we center together in prayer.  Sometimes out of that silence, people rise to speak, sharing messages that come from the holy part of them. We find the honesty and truth revealed in this way to be helpful and inspiring, sometimes leading to callings and actions.  Trenton's Quakers are active, making contributions to our community and our world.

Among the historical testimonies that express central values of Quakers are the presence of God in each person, a direct and individual communion with God, and between all human beings a working towards peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, care of the environment and care for each other.  In these times, many people feel these leadings!

On Facebook we have a page for the Meeting and a location page for the Meetinghouse

What's New

Peace and Social Concerns Committee - Minute concerning racial justice post George Floyd's death

Approved by Peace and Social Concerns 23 Sixth Month 2020

Approved by Trenton Meeting of Friends 9 Eighth Month 2020

We were appalled and sickened by the brutal killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020 by a white police officer.  The fact that this has sparked a fire of outrage all over the country and the world indicates that it is time to finally end racial injustice.

A Minute in support of the nationwide 2020 Poor People's Campaign was approved at Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business on 10 Fifth Month 2020.

"Given the historic connection that Quakers have had to the Poor People’s Campaign and the continued need for a moral call toward economic, racial and environmental justice in the United States, Trenton Meeting of Friends in Trenton, New Jersey endorses the 2020 Poor People’s Campaign and encourages other Monthly Meetings in our Quarter and beyond to do the same.”

Dear Governor Murphy:

We are extremely concerned about global warming and the effect it is having on our state. We are asking you to take a more aggressive stance against fracked gas pipelines and other uses of fossil fuels.

Child Care and First Day School

We have First Day School on the Second and Fourth Weeks of the month from September through June. It occurs during the hour of Worship.  First Day School teachers Graham Apgar and Aine Mickey provide a Quaker centered active time for children from pre-K to middle school.  Each week is tailored to the ages and interested of the children attending.

On the other weeks and during the summer, child care is available in the First Day School room.  All care (First Day School and child care) is provided by fully background checked adults, although teen age volunteers might be involved under the guidance of adults.
