Second Hour on UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons

Greetings Friends,

This Sunday on Armistice Day (11/11/2018) during 2nd hour, West Knoxville Friends will continue our discernment about a minute in support of the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

This will be our second 2nd hour following the July business meeting at which the Peace & Social Concerns Committee brought a request to undertake this discernment.
I have prepared a draft minute for discussion purposes.  The draft attempts to integrate points in favor of the Treaty from the perspective of Friends' peace testimony, reference to several authoritative sources about the devastating effects of nuclear weapons, positions other Friends' organizations and monthly meetings, and leadings from our previous 2nd hour in support of a multilateral approach.
Please review and season as we prepare to seek the Way on this matter.  Please bring your leadings to our 2nd hour.
Peace & good cheer,
Guy Larry Osborne
