Together we nurture the spiritual vitality of Friends

Annual All-Meeting Retreat - February 22, 2014

Annual All-Meeting Retreat, Saturday February 22, 9:15-3:00, at the Meetinghouse

Where are you in your spiritual journey?  Do you participate in spiritual practices outside of Meeting for Worship?  Do you have spiritual friends or mentors?  How could Durham Meeting better support you in your spiritual growth – and what part can you play in supporting the spiritual growth of others?

The theme of this year’s retreat is Deepening Our Spirituality Together.   At a recent forum discussion, many voices expressed the need for more opportunities to connect with others in Meeting for spiritual support and growth.  This retreat will explore some of those possibilities.  It will include opportunities for self-examination, for sharing personal spiritual history with others, and for learning about individual and small group spiritual practices.  It will also explore how our Meeting can better nourish spiritual connection and growth among us.

Everyone – both newcomers and longtime Friends -- should plan on coming!  This retreat is a chance to expand our usual experience of Meeting, to engage with others in a way that goes beyond our normal 10am First Day roles and to deepen our community.

The retreat will include a children’s program, so that families can participate fully.  Please let us know of any children who plan to attend, so that we can get a headcount.

Coffee and bagels will be available at 8:45, while the retreat itself begins at 9:15.  Lunch will be offered, and there will be opportunities between retreat sessions for activity and sharing.
