Ubuntu Fellowship - Transformative Racial Healing on the Road to the Beloved Community
February 24, 2021; 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, via Zoom (please email us for the Zoom Information at smquakers.media@gmail.com).
Join us -- a diverse group of Friends, to worshipfully share with one another about aspects of the omnipresent systemic racism and white supremacy in the United States.
As always, the goal is to speak openly and honestly, listen with compassion, and over time, to be healed.
With Cecelia Valentine, Kindred Gottlieb, and Phil Way
Why ubuntu? What does that word mean?
Ubuntu has its roots in humanist African philosophy, where the idea of community is one of the building blocks of society. Ubuntu is that nebulous concept of common humanity, oneness: humanity, you and me both.
The word ubuntu is part of the Zulu phrase "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu", which literally means that a person is a person through other people.
