Dear Friends,

As many of you know, Traci Hjelt Sullivan, FGC’s current Associate Secretary for Development and former Gathering Coordinator, decided after more than a decade of service that she was feeling called to new work.  Graciously, Traci gave us a number of months’ notice so we could both find a strong successor for this position and have a time of overlap between them for training.  We’re very pleased that after an extensive search process, Faith Josephs will be our next Associate Secretary of Development effective January 2nd, 2019.  Traci will stay with FGC into February to help create a smooth transition.

Faith Josephs grew up attending Media Friends Meeting in Pennsylvania where she continues to be a member. She moved to North Carolina to attend Guilford College where she was a member of the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program and served as Recording Clerk her senior year. After graduating, her Quaker background led her to social justice work, specifically immigrant rights issues.

She has worked for eight years serving immigrant families in North Carolina through educational programming, case management, and crisis intervention. Most recently, she worked at the Latin American Coalition in Charlotte for over three years, first as the program manager and then Development Director.

She lives in Charlotte, NC with her partner and their cat and attends Charlotte Friends Meeting.  She will remain based in Charlotte with regular trips to the FGC offices in Philadelphia while also visiting Friends and Friends meetings across the USA and Canada.  Faith shared,

“I am excited for this opportunity to use my gifts and experience with Quakerism, the non-profit sector, and fundraising to serve my greater Quaker community by working with Friends General Conference.”

In her free time, she loves yoga, art and taking care of her many house plants.

Please join us in welcoming Faith to the FGC staff.

                               In service, Barry
