For the month of November, CHFM’s Upper Elementary Group (grades 4-6) will be collecting gently used books (PreK - 8th grade reading levels) to donate to the Historic Fair Hill Book Drive. Many children in the Fair Hill neighborhood in North Philadelphia come from families with no English language books, and several of their schools do not have libraries. Books are scarce, and they are valued. Donating these books is a significant contribution to literacy in a struggling neighborhood.

Many of the children are first-generation English speakers with no books at home. Needed: fiction, non-fiction, science, social studies and reference to motivate reading and inspire imagination.

There will be collection boxes in the coat alcove across from the bathrooms. You can also contact Evangeline Bragitikos ebragitikos@comcast.net or 215-836-9927 to arrange pick up.
