The Clerk's opening passage for the 06/26 worship was simple but spoke deeply to Memphis Friends. One Friend called the online meeting a gathered meeting. Friends worshipping in the meeting house backyard joined online Friends at the end of the hour for joys, concerns and announcements, and it was clear that for backyard worshippers the hour had been a powerful one as well.

A footnote on sources: This quote is sometimes attributed to Gandhi and sometimes to A.J. Muste. During worship, the Clerk attributed it to Quaker Nobel Prize winner Emily Greene Balch.
