America has forgotten the war in Yemen

As I watched the Russian invasion in Ukraine unfold, I am horrified by the cost of this aggressive action on the civilian population. Families are torn apart; homes, lives, and livelihoods are lost; and futures are uncertain. March 26, 2022, marks the seventh anniversary of another war - a forgotten war that is raging in Yemen.
Even though 377,000 people died in Yemen in 2021 and 16.2 million people are starving, 2.3 million are children under the age of 5 - American media outlets have largely ignored this deadly conflict. Images of the severely malnourished children who face lifetimes of cognitive impairment due to lack of proper nutrition if they survive are heartbreaking.
Like the situation in the Ukraine/Russia war, the Yemen/Saudi Arabia war is a David and Goliath story. Unlike the war in Ukraine, however, the United States is supporting Goliäth by selling arms and supplies to the Saudis and by supporting the blockade that is keeping food, water, and medicine from reaching the people of Yemen. We are complicit in the humanitarian crisis by aiding the Saudis.
Please encourage Rep. Jim Cooper and Sens. Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty to introduce and support a Yemen War Powers Resolution to end our support of the Saudi-led conflict in Yemen. Please encourage them to use diplomacy to end the blockade - and promote a ceasefire in this war-ravaged country.
