Join Urban League of Middle TN, Civic TN, and the Southern Coalition for Social Justice for our upcoming CROWD (Community Redistricting Organizations Working for Democracy) Academy designed to train community leaders on how to educate and engage citizens with the upcoming redistricting process. Crowd Academy attendees (“CROWD Academy Scholars”) will attend training that will prepare them to conduct “Redistricting 101” training and give them tools and tips to successfully lead engagement around redistricting in their community. Participants will learn the redistricting process at all levels of government, legal and equity considerations when drawing lines, how to analyze proposed voting maps, how to access the technology and support for drawing/proposing your own voting maps, and organizing skills for influencing the redistricting process. The training will be held via Zoom.

This line-drawing process builds on all of our 2020 Census, GOTV, and VR efforts by shaping the districts we'll vote in for the next decade.  

We can use the momentum we've been building and the learnings of COVID to prepare to shape these maps and serve our communities and issues.
